Baby Z

When I was younger I was the child you couldn't tell anything to because just the idea of knowing something secret killed me. When Zac and I discovered that I was pregnant I was ready to tell everyone and anyone because I was SO excited but we quickly decided to wait a bit before we officially announced the news. Being busy with graduation, vacationing, packing, and moving helped to keep my mind off of posting about baby Z, but we are finally ready to share our news with everyone.

How we found out

It was April 15th and we were getting ready to go to campus to study for finals and I randomly decided to take a pregnancy test. When I saw the faint line make its appearance showing a positive result I literally thought I was imagining things. Maybe my mind was making it up because I was baby hungry? Were my contacts fuzzy? Did I even have contacts on? What was happening?!?! I showed Zac who also thought he was imagining it so I took another test and there was that line again. Six tests later we finally grasped that we were not hallucinating or imagining lines. At this point I was one month pregnant!

This was about a month ago at 14 weeks and I just started showing

Current Details and Updates

Due Date: December 19th (I'm really hoping it comes a little earlier and not on Christmas!)

Baby Bump: Pretty obvious. Although, I am always surprised when someone I haven't told or don't know bravely approaches me to ask when the due date is.

Morning Sickness: Thank goodness that is over. I spent weeks 7-15 sleeping off the nausea and eating saltines and ginger ale. It was terrible! My second trimester has been wonderful (as long as I get a two hour nap somewhere in my day).

Gender: We just found out two days ago that it is a girl!!!! We are thrilled.

Movements: Yep. I can feel her. It's not a kick but more like a water balloon vibrating type of a feeling.

Cravings: Fruit (especially mangos),  white RICE, seafood, salt and vinegar chips, french fries, and ice cream.

Food Aversions: Mushrooms, red meat (this one is a surprise because I usually LOVE steak and ribs or anything greasy and meaty).

Strange smell versions: Anything that smells like soap or really strong men's cologne/deodorant/shaving cream really gets me. At first I couldn't exactly pinpoint what was making me so nauseous all the time but when I finally realized it was Zac's deodorant I requested a switch to an unscented type.

We just can't wait to meet baby Z!
